The Manila Police District (MPD) is on full alert for the scheduled Labor Day protests around the city.
The MPD is deploying over 3,000 police officers to secure key areas in the city, including the US Embassy and the Pandacan Oil Depot.
Law enforcers and militant labor groups earlier agreed on five converging points for the protests, which include Stop-and-Shop junction in Santa Mesa; Blumentritt; Plaza Salamanca; Welcome Rotunda and Moriones in Tondo.
The police force is under orders to exercise the policy of say they will employ maximum tolerance during the protests.
