The Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 gets set to push through Monday with the arraignment of the alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles on serious illegal detention on Monday.
Makati RTC Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda issued the order on Friday after denying Napoles' petition for another deferment due to lack of merit.
The arraignment is set for 1:30 pm Monday.
Security authorities are expected to escort Napoles from detention at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, to the Makati RTC premises.
The Makati City Police says security arrangements are in place for the arraignment.
In a telephone interview, Makati Police Chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban Junior says an initial ocular inspection was held on Saturday, with elements of the Special Action Force and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit taking part.
Lukban adds that two teams of eight police personnel will be deployed outside Makati City Hall, with another team posted outside the court room upon approval of the judge.
Lukban said the security scanning will include canine sniffers and procedures that the police explosives and ordnance disposal unit will conduct.
