PH mostly rainy with a cooler Metro Manila

Aside from the northeast monsoon affecting Northern Luzon, the trough of a low pressure area is now affecting Mindanao, according to the bulletin issued at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Due to this, there will be cloudy skies bringing light to moderate rain and thunderstorms over the Visayas and Mindanao, where the rain will reach parts of the Caraga Region and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Up north, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies bringing isolated light showers over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Metro Manila will continue to enjoy cooler temperatures, which may drop to 20 degrees Celsius.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas making coastal waters along these areas moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

For key cities in Luzon, it will be sunny in Laoag and Baguio.

On the other hand, showers will dampen Calapan and localized thunderstorms will prevail over Puerto Princesa, Tagaytay, Tuguegarao, and Legazpi.

Metro Manila will continue to enjoy cooler temperatures, which may drop to 20 degrees Celsius. But there will be isolated showers or thunderstorms in some areas.

In the Visayas, it will be wet in most cities, including Dumaguete and Tagbilaran. Rain clouds may hover over Borongan and may bring thunderstorms to Cebu, Iloilo, and Tacloban.

In Mindanao, Cotabato and Butuan will have showers today and cloudy skies will bring thunderstorms over in Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Zamboanga.
